Job summary

BMD is seeking a Leading Hand to join our civil infrastructure and urban development projects. This hands-on leadership role involves coordinating crews, subcontractors, plant and materials to deliver work safely, efficiently and to high quality standards.

You’ll drive productivity, monitor programme targets and foster a safety-focused site culture. If you’re a motivated civil construction professional who enjoys leading from the front, this is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Civil Construction required.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Experience in civil infrastructure and/or urban development projects.
• Proven leadership and team coordination experience.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Sound understanding of construction drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
• Commitment to safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Ability to deliver projects within programme and budget constraints.
• Experience with shoring works.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily site operations and construction activities.
• Coordinate labour, plant and material resources.
• Supervise subcontractors, suppliers and plant hire contractors.
• Monitor project costs and productivity on site.
• Ensure works are delivered to programme requirements.
• Manage survey and set-out requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of site activities.
• Promote and uphold safety and environmental standards.
• Identify and report non-conformances and support corrective actions.
• Ensure all works meet quality specifications and client expectations.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Leading Hand to join our high-performing team delivering civil infrastructure and urban development projects.

In this hands-on leadership role, you'll coordinate crews, subcontractors, plant and materials to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You'll play a key role in driving productivity, maintaining programme targets and fostering a positive, safety-focused site culture.
