Job summary

W Sydney in Sydney is seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will learn essential culinary skills and work alongside experienced chefs across our hotel kitchens.

You’ll assist with breakfast, lunch, dinner and events, maintain high hygiene standards and contribute to a creative team environment while pursuing a Commercial Cookery apprenticeship in Australia.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and take direction.
• Punctuality and reliability.
• Weekend and public holiday availability.
• Eligibility to undertake a Commercial Cookery apprenticeship in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of dishes.
• Operate kitchen equipment under supervision.
• Learn knife and cooking techniques.
• Follow recipes and instructions from senior chefs.
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
• Attend TAFE to gain qualification.
• Learn about food safety and hygiene practices.
• Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies.
