The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart, seeks a Catering & Events Manager for a fixed term. You’ll plan, coordinate and execute events from intimate gatherings to conferences, delivering exceptional guest experiences across multiple spaces.

Lead and coach the events team, collaborate with Sales, F&B and operations, and focus on upselling opportunities while maintaining brand standards and compliance. Join Australia’s premier luxury conferencing program.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years in catering, conferencing or events with supervisory/managerial capacity.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and execute events from intimate to large-scale.
• Strong leadership to guide operational teams delivering exceptional events.
• Excellent guest service mindset and client focus.
• Outstanding organisational and time-management skills with multiple priorities.

Responsabilités

• Manage end-to-end planning, coordination and execution of events from intimate functions to large conferences.
• Act as main client contact ensuring requirements are understood and delivered to a high standard.
• Collaborate with Sales, Food & Beverage, Culinary and operations for seamless delivery.
• Prepare and communicate accurate event documentation and briefs.
• Oversee event execution with a strong guest experience focus.
• Lead and coach the team to maintain service and presentation standards.
• Identify opportunities to maximise event revenue through upselling.
• Resolve operational challenges with a solutions-focused approach.
• Monitor client feedback and drive continuous improvement in events.
• Ensure events comply with brand standards, RSA and WHS.
