Job summary

Compass Group Australia is seeking an Assistant Unit Manager for our Airline Lounge operations. You will support the Lounge Manager across shifts, act as Manager on Duty when needed, and help deliver exceptional service to travellers.

Lead, coach and develop supervisors and frontline team members; assist rostering, stock control, and daily admin; manage guest feedback and safety compliance; contribute to continuous improvement and reporting.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience within hospitality, lounges, hotels or catering operations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to premium service standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lounge Manager in overseeing all lounge operations and ensuring service excellence on each shift.
• Act as Manager on Duty when required, leading the team and maintaining operational standards.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and assist with service delivery expectations.
• Lead, coach and develop supervisors, team leaders and frontline team members.
• Assist with rostering, workforce planning, stock control and day-to-day administration.
• Manage guest feedback, service recovery and operational escalations professionally.
• Ensure compliance with airport safety, security and food safety requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to operational reporting and handovers.
