Job summary

Compass Group Australia’s Airline Lounge operations are seeking an Assistant Unit Manager to oversee daily lounge services and drive premium guest experiences. The role includes acting as Manager on Duty, leading supervisors and front-line teams, and coordinating rostering, stock control and service delivery across shifts.

You will build strong client partnerships, ensure safety and compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement and operational handovers, while maintaining a calm,

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in hospitality or related operations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Excellent attention to detail and premium service standards.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Calm under pressure, especially during peak times.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lounge Manager in overseeing all lounge operations and ensuring exceptional service delivery across each shift.
• Act as Manager on Duty when required, leading the team and maintaining operational standards.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, assisting with operational requests and service delivery expectations.
• Lead, coach and develop supervisors, team leaders and frontline team members.
• Assist with rostering, workforce planning, stock control and day-to-day administration.
• Manage guest feedback, service recovery and operational escalations professionally.
• Ensure compliance with airport safety, security and food safety requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to operational reporting and handovers.
