Job summary

Liontown is seeking a Long Term Planner – Maintenance for our Kathleen Valley site on an 8:6 FIFO roster. This role maintains and updates the long-range maintenance plan across crushing, grinding, flotation, and materials handling, translating LoM and asset inputs into an executable programme.

You will map maintenance events from 6 months to 5 years ahead, supporting major shutdown campaigns and optimising resource availability to minimise downtime.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in engineering, trades background, or equivalent technical discipline.
• Formal training or certification in maintenance planning, reliability, or asset management (e.g. CMRP, ISO 55000 awareness).
• Experience preparing capex inputs, maintenance cost forecasts, or long-lead procurement schedules is highly desirable.
• Experience developing long-range maintenance plans, asset lifecycle strategies, or multi-year shutdown schedules.
• Proficiency in SAP PM or CMMS, including work orders, maintenance plans, task lists, and equipment data.
• WA C Class Drivers Licence.
• Able to pass pre-employment medical, National Police Clearance, and Drug and Alcohol screen.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains a rolling long‑term maintenance plan for the fixed plant across 6 months to 5 years, with milestones and resourcing.
• Schedules major component replacements, condition-based interventions, and inspections ahead of execution windows.
• Maintains a rolling 12‑month master maintenance calendar updated quarterly, aligned with shutdowns and production outages.
• Flags campaigns and projects requiring long‑lead prep to engineering and supply chain teams.
• Contributes input to quarterly long‑term plan reviews and publishes a monthly long‑term plan summary to leadership.
• Develops planning-based cost estimates for major maintenance activities and long‑lead requirements.
• Converts the 12‑month plan into a rolling 3‑month scheduling window (3MS) updated monthly.
• Develops a multi-year shutdown schedule to optimise downtime and align with production requirements.
• Produces regular reporting on the long-term maintenance plan and risk items for optimization.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Long Term Planner – Maintenance, based at our Kathleen Valley site on an 8:6 roster. This position maintains and updates the long-range maintenance plan supporting asset integrity across all processing infrastructure (crushing, grinding, flotation, filtration, and materials handling circuits). This role translates Life-of-Mine (LoM) strategy and asset strategy inputs provided by engineering and planning leadership into a maintained long‑term maintenance programme, supporting the transition into tactical short‑term execution. By mapping out maintenance events from 6 months to 5 years in advance, this position supports the planning of high‑impact component changes, structural remediations, and major shutdown campaigns to optimise resource availability and minimise production downtime.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develops, and maintains a rolling long‑term maintenance plan for the fixed plant asset base across the 6‑month to 5‑year horizon, translating Life‑of‑Mine plan inputs and asset strategy — reviewed and updated on a regular cycle — into an executable, prioritised maintenance programme with defined milestones and resourcing requirements
• Identifies and schedules major component replacements, condition‑based interventions, and statutory inspections well ahead of execution windows, validating task list and Bill of Materials availability against planned long‑term scope.
• Develops and maintains a rolling 12‑month master maintenance calendar, updated quarterly, and the annual, quarterly, and monthly maintenance schedules that flow from it, aligned with the shutdown calendar and all scheduled production outage windows.
• Flags campaigns, change‑outs, and projects requiring long‑lead preparation to engineering and supply chain teams, and reconciles actual maintenance delivery against the long‑term plan to keep forecasts current.
• Contributes input to quarterly long‑term plan reviews led by the Maintenance Engineering and Planning Superintendent, working with the Engineering and Reliability Lead and publishes a monthly long‑term plan summary to maintenance leadership.
• Develops and maintains planning‑based cost estimates for major maintenance activities, component replacements, shutdown campaigns, and long‑lead requirements across the planning horizon
• Converts the 12‑month integrated plan into a rolling 3‑month scheduling window (3MS), updated monthly and underpinned by a rolling 12‑month forecast horizon reviewed quarterly.
• Develops and maintains a multi‑year shutdown schedule that optimises frequency, scope, and sequencing across the fixed plant asset base, identifying opportunities to consolidate work, reduce total planned downtime, and align shutdown windows with production requirements.
• Produces regular reporting on the long‑term maintenance plan for the Maintenance Engineering and Planning Superintendent, covering upcoming major work, and key risk items, and monitors maintenance intervals against asset performance data to support ongoing optimisation of maintenance strategies.

What We’re Looking For

You will have d emonstrated experience in maintenance planning within a fixed plant, processing, or heavy industrial environment. We are also looking for;

• Tertiary qualification in engineering, trades background, or equivalent technical discipline is desirable
• Formal training or certification in maintenance planning, reliability, or asset management (e.g. CMRP, ISO 55000 awareness) is advantageous.
• Experience preparing or contributing to capital expenditure inputs, maintenance cost forecasts, or long‑lead procurement schedules is highly desirable.
• Experience developing or contributing to long‑range maintenance plans, asset lifecycle strategies, or multi‑year shutdown schedules.
• Proficiency in SAP PM or equivalent CMMS, including work order management, maintenance plans, task lists, and equipment master data.
