Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee day-to-day logistics operations with local team leaders.
• Route cargo in compliance with legal, regulatory, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate shipment routing, carrier selection, and documentation.
• Use and maintain Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and client systems.
• Track shipments, update records, and manage delays proactively.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, Hazmat, and international shipping regulations.
• Issue shipping documents and monitor data integrity in logistics systems.
• Capture and document all costs, including freight and detention.
• Support marketing campaigns and contribute to articles and publications.
• Provide recommendations based on qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Allyn International is currently looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our organization! Allyn is a privately-held professional services firm established in 1992. What does a Logistics Specialist do?

The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and managing the transportation and distribution of goods. They will work closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers to ensure timely delivery of products. The Logistics Specialist will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of inventory and shipments, as well as monitoring and analyzing logistics performance metrics.

Position Details:

Location: Adelaide, AUS

Work Schedule: 38 hours, 8 AM-4 PM, Monday-Friday (some weekend / after-hours support may be required)

Position Classification: Full-Time; Salaried Exempt

Compensation: $85,0000 - $95,000 annual salary + Superannuation

Physical Demands: Sitting, typing, standing, walking

Work Environment: Office Cubicle

Candidates must be Australian Citizens and furnish a Valid National Police Check upon hire.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience in professional supply chain management, logistics, or transportation
• Experience in both Australian Domestic and International Logistics is required
• Defense industry experience preferred
• Must be eligible for Baseline Level Security Clearance

  • Ensure compliance with DOT, Hazmat, over-dimensional permitting, and international shipping regulations
  • Issue accurate shipping documents (e.g., invoices, packing lists, certificates)
  • Monitor and ensure data integrity and quality in logistics systems
  • Capture and document all costs, including freight, detention, demurrage, and accessorial
• Support marketing campaigns and contribute to articles and publications
• Provide recommendations based on qualitative and quantitative analysis
• Suggest and manage technical/process enhancements
