Job summary

Adecco Portugal seeks an experienced Logistics Scheduler to join a busy manufacturing operation in Bathurst, NSW on a full-time basis. You will coordinate transport scheduling, dispatch and inventory movements across the supply chain.

Key duties include planning freight routes, booking carriers, monitoring deliveries, maintaining PODs and freight cost reports. You will work closely with Production, Stores and external transport providers to keep on-time delivery and continuous improvement across

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in transport scheduling and dispatch.
  • Strong understanding of logistics, freight and supply chain processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate national transport and dispatch activities.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Logistics Scheduler to join a well-established manufacturing operation in Bathurst on a full-time basis. This role is suited to an organised logistics professional with experience in transport scheduling, dispatch and supply chain coordination.

Our client operates within the manufacturing industry and is committed to safe, efficient and reliable supply chain operations. The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Stores, Sales and external transport providers to ensure materials and finished products are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule and coordinate national transport and dispatch activities.
  • Plan and optimise freight routes, loads and delivery timeframes.
  • Book transport providers and coordinate daily freight movements.
  • Monitor deliveries, pickups and transport performance.
  • Communicate schedules, delays and changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare manifests, consignment notes, load plans and transport documentation.
  • Maintain accurate Proof of Delivery (POD) records.
  • Monitor freight costs, negotiate rates and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage transport claims, discrepancies and non-conformance reports.
  • Coordinate urgent deliveries, disruptions and scheduling conflicts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions within ERP systems.
  • Assist with stocktakes, cycle counts and inventory reconciliations.
  • Coordinate inter-branch transfers and material movements.
  • Support purchasing and MRP reporting when required.
  • Prepare transport performance and cost reports.
  • Ensure transport providers meet required compliance and insurance standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
Your Profile
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in transport scheduling and dispatch.
  • Strong understanding of logistics, freight and supply chain processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make decisions under pressure.
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and changing schedules.
  • Experience managing transport providers and freight costs.
  • Understanding of Heavy Vehicle Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and HVNL is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Dangerous Goods requirements is desirable.
