Job summary

Aurizon is seeking applications from Qualified Locomotive Drivers to join our Albany Rail Operations Team on a full-time permanent arrangement. This residential role is open to applicants who reside in Albany or are willing to relocate on a permanent basis.

This role is suited to a safety-conscious professional with strong teamwork, flexibility, and customer service skills. You will operate locomotives, conduct brake tests, and help ensure on-time performance while upholding Aurizon safety

Qualifications

• Experience operating locomotives including mainline, shunting and marshalling.
• Familiar with safety procedures and on-time running requirements.
• Willing to work 24/7 shift roster and relocate to Albany if required.

• Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
• Maintain high on-time running.
• Perform brake testing on locomotives.

Aurizon is seeking applications from Qualified Locomotive Drivers to join our Albany Rail Operations Team on a full-time permanent arrangement. This opportunity is a residential role and open to applicants that either reside in Albany or are willing to relocate on a permanent basis.

This role will be suited to an individual who is able to display superior teamwork skills, flexibility, a high level of safety awareness and customer service.

About the role:

• Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting, and marshalling.
• Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
• Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures.
• Maintain a high level of on-time running.
• Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
• Provide high quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives.

About you:

• Strong commitment to safety and the Aurizon Safety Strategy “I Know Safe, I Choose Safe”.
• Must be available to work 24/7 shift roster.
• Experience in WA Safe working System is advantageous.
• Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience.
• A certificate IV in Rail Operations.
