Job summary

The Salvation Army in Cairns, QLD is seeking a Community Mission Partnerships Coordinator (2-year maximum term, full-time) to lead strategy, build strong networks with churches, government, and community groups, and align efforts to meet local needs.

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will gather insights, coordinate stakeholders, mobilise volunteers, and ensure governance and compliance while modelling inclusive, values-led engagement.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Community Services or equivalent relevant experience (desirable).
• Experience coordinating, supporting, or working alongside volunteers in a community-focused setting.
• Experience across Christian contexts and with diverse cultures.

Responsibilities

• Gather and interpret community needs and insights to inform aligned, locally relevant mission responses.
• Connect and coordinate stakeholders, fostering collaboration and shared initiatives while avoiding duplication.
• Support strategic planning, tools, and frameworks that enable effective, sustainable community programs.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships across churches, community organisations, government and business networks.
• Mobilise and support volunteers by enabling clear, coordinated and safe engagement across initiatives.
• Uphold governance, risk, and compliance standards while modelling inclusive, values-led community engagement.
