Job summary

Bayside Council is seeking a Litter & Illegal Dumping Prevention Officer in Sydney, NSW. The role focuses on developing and delivering programs to prevent litter, engage communities, and improve public amenity.

You'll manage hotspot initiatives, data analysis and grant-funded projects while coordinating with NSW EPA and partners. Based in Hillsdale, the position offers a 3-year full-time contract, a salary from AUD 95,969 to AUD 107,485 per year plus 12% super, and access to council benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and delivering community education or behaviour change programs.
• Experience managing environmental, waste, litter or public amenity initiatives.
• Experience collecting, analysing and reporting on program performance data.
• Experience managing grant-funded projects and compliance reporting.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and written communication skills.
• Ability to prepare reports, presentations and funding acquittals.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver, maintain and evaluate education and engagement programs.
• Identify, assess and coordinate litter and illegal dumping hotspot initiatives.
• Secure and manage infrastructure, project and grant funding opportunities.
• Analyze data and prepare reports, presentations and recommendations.
• Manage NSW EPA-funded projects including milestone and funding reports.
• Liaise with EPA, partners and funding bodies for project delivery.
• Provide updates to project Steering Groups and governance forums.
• Build relationships with staff, agencies, businesses and community groups.
• Support broader environmental and resilience team objectives.
• Contribute to planning, budgeting and service delivery improvements.
