Job summary

Uniting AgeWell is seeking a proactive Lifestyle Assistant to join our Hawthorn team on a part-time basis. You will support the Lifestyle Coordinator and help deliver varied programs tailored to individual resident needs, promoting engagement and wellbeing.

You will promote participation in meaningful activities, build friendly professional relationships with residents and families, and contribute to a BEST workplace environment reflecting our values.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care is required.
• Experience in residential aged care is essential.
• Working with Vulnerable People card / WWVP and police clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lifestyle programs for residents.
• Assist with assessments and evaluate residents' cultural, recreational and leisure needs.
• Provide outstanding customer service and maintain professional relations with residents and families.

About the role:

Our dedicated Hawthorn is looking for an engaging and proactive Lifestyle Assistant to join the team on a Part time basis. Supporting our Lifestyle Coordinator, the Lifestyle Assistant will help with the delivery of appropriate and varied lifestyle programs to enhance and support the individual needs of residents.

In this role, you will work a fortnightly roster of the following pattern:

• Thursday, Friday & Saturday:10:00am to 5:00pm

As a Lifestyle Assistant, you will promote and assist our residents participate in meaningful activities whilst maintaining friendly and supportive professional relationships. You will be making a profound difference in the lives our residents, enabling them to live their BEST life.

You will be responsible for:

• Participating in the development and delivery of lifestyle programs to our residents, ensuringresidents are able to participate and enjoy the programs
• Assist with assessments, review and the ongoing evaluation of residents cultural, recreational and leisure needs and lifestyle interests
• provide outstanding customer service maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with residents, their relatives and friends

About you:

You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents and clients, to support them to live life to their potential.

• Certificate III in Aged Care
• Certificate IV in Lifestyle and Leisure (desirable)
• Ability to drive a 10 seater bus
• Have experience and knowledge in residential aged care with a commitment to high standards of care for residents and their families
• Are known for your caring and compassionate nature
• Experience as a Personal Care Worker in Aged Care highly regarded
• Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
• A current Working withVulnerable People card
• Have Australian working rights and are able to pass a national police clearance

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

• A current Working With Vulnerable People card/ Working With Children Check card
• Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
