Job summary

Uniting AgeWell Geelong is seeking dedicated Personal Care Workers to provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents in our aged care community. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, follow care plans and support residents with dignified daily activities.

Permanent part-time, fixed-term part-time, and casual shifts are available across various schedules. Requirements include Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care), experience in residential aged care, excellent

• Experience in residential aged care/home care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality, person-centred care to residents and families, including cultural, spiritual and individual needs.

About the role:

At Uniting AgeWell, Personal Care Workers co-ordinate personal care for residents in accordance with care plans which meet their individual needs and preferences. Working within a multidisciplinary team, provide effective clinical and emotional support to residents, recognise changes in residents’ conditions and escalat[e] observations and concerns.

• Deliver high quality, person centered care to residents and families, including consideration for cultural, spiritual and individual needs
• Provide personal care to residents with complex needs such palliative care, dementia support, restorative care and pain management to enhance their wellbeing
• Support nursing staff regarding assessment, care planning processes, documentation and evaluation of care outcomes
• Monitor the cleanliness, safety, environment and promptly report issues of concern
• Permanent Part Time Shifts available
  • Week 1, Thursday, Friday 07:00 - 15:00, Week 2, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 07:00 - 22:00
• Fixed Term Part Time Shifts available
  • Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 16:30 - 22:00. Available from the 28th of September until the 29th of March
• Casual opportunities available

About you:

This is the place for you if you have:

• Certificate III in Individual Support, or equivalent (Aged Care)
• Experience in residential aged care/ home care
• Experience with dementia care and palliative care support (desired)
• Demonstrated abilities to support residents in a fast paced environment with exemplary communication skills in a team and one on one interactions with all levels of care partners

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

• A current Working With Children Check card
• Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
• Australian working rights
• Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
