Job summary

Shire of Campaspe is seeking enthusiastic Lifeguards for the 2026/27 outdoor pool season across Colbinabbin, Kyabram, Lockington, Rushworth, Stanhope and Tongala. Casual tenure with season-long availability from November 2026 to March 2027.

Responsibilities include supervising patrons, enforcing rules, responding to emergencies and maintaining cleanliness. Certifications required include Lifeguard and First Aid; driving licence and Working with Children Check are also needed.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certificate or in progress.
• Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003).
• Valid Driver’s Licence.
• Victorian Working with Children Check.
• Satisfactory National Police Check or willingness to obtain.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.

• Supervise pool patrons and maintain a safe aquatic environment at all times.
• Enforce facility rules and promote safe aquatic practices.
• Respond to emergencies, rescues and first aid incidents; complete incident reporting.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the facility, including change rooms.
• Identify and address safety hazards to minimise risks to patrons and staff.
• Follow established safety procedures, training requirements and emergency action plans.
• Provide excellent customer service to all facility users.

Location: Outdoor pools – located at Colbinabbin, Kyabram, Lockington, Rushworth, Stanhope and Tongala

Junior Lifeguard pay rate: $43.83 per hour (inclusive of 25% casual loading)

Lifeguard pay rate: $45.05 per hour (inclusive of 25% casual loading)

Campaspe Shire Council is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Lifeguards to join our outdoor pool team for the 2026/27 summer season. As a Lifeguard, you’ll play an important role in creating a safe, enjoyable and welcoming environment for our community. Whether you’re an experienced Lifeguard or currently working towards your qualifications, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

• Supervise pool patrons and ensure a safe aquatic environment at all times.

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout the facility, including change rooms.

• Follow established safety procedures, training requirements, and emergency action plans.
• Provide excellent customer service to all facility users.

About You

• Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or in the process of obtaining it).
• Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003).
• A valid Driver’s Licence.
• A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
• Satisfactory National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Successful completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
