Seek.com.au is seeking an experienced Licensed Customs Broker to join its Sydney/Melbourne team with remote and flexible working options. You will manage files from document review through clearance, providing high-quality customs and compliance support across a growing portfolio of freight forwarding, airfreight, e-commerce and general import clients.

The role requires independence, ability to work across multiple stakeholders, and strong knowledge of Australian customs processes.

Qualifications

• Hold a current Australian Customs Broker Licence.
• Experienced in Australian customs brokerage.
• Strong knowledge of tariff classification, valuation, FTAs and import requirements.
• Capable of independently managing import clearance files.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and lodge Import Declarations through IC.
• Tariff classification and interpretation.
• Assess Free Trade Agreement eligibility and tariff concessions.
• Review customs valuation and import documentation.
• Manage ABF and DAFF referrals and queries.
• Provide customs and regulatory advice to clients.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, importers, overseas offices and other stakeholders.
• Support airfreight and e-commerce clearance operations.
• Identify compliance issues and resolve complex clearance matters.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Australian customs and biosecurity requirements.

The position can be based in Sydney or Melbourne, with remote and flexible working arrangements available for the right candidate.

We are looking for an experienced broker who can work independently, manage their own files and provide high-quality customs and compliance support across a growing portfolio of freight forwarding, airfreight, e-commerce and general import clients.

This is not simply an entry-processing position. You will have the autonomy to manage files from document review through to clearance, while working closely with an experienced customs brokerage team.

About You

To be considered, you must:

• Hold a current Australian Customs Broker Licence

• Have practical experience in Australian customs brokerage

• Have strong knowledge of tariff classification, valuation, FTAs and import requirements

• Be confident using IC, TradeWindow and Expedient.

• Be capable of independently managing import clearance files

• Have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Communicate professionally with clients and operational teams

Experience with airfreight, e-commerce or express cargo will be highly regarded.

Mandarin language skills will also be highly regarded but are not essential.
