Job summary

Brisbane City Council is offering a 12‑month Traineeship to earn a Certificate III in Customer Engagement, with temporary full‑time hours across multiple Brisbane libraries. Commencing February 2027, the program provides hands‑on library experience, storytelling, and community activities while developing customer service skills for a future career in public service.

Qualifications

Passionate about libraries, learning and supporting the community.
Reliable, motivated and open to learning new skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills, or a willingness to develop them.
Committed to completing training modules throughout the year.
Able to travel across Brisbane (some library locations may not be serviced by public transport).

Responsibilities

Gain hands‑on experience working in local libraries that support storytelling, digital inclusion, and community events.
Help deliver programs such as Storytime for kids, tech help for adults, and public workshops.
Work as part of a friendly, community‑focused team in vibrant library settings.
Receive ongoing mentoring from mob and a dedicated traineeship coordinator.
Build skills for a long‑term career in libraries, community engagement, or customer service.
