Job summary

James Bennett, Australia’s leading library supplier, seeks an experienced cataloguer to deliver high-quality bibliographic records for libraries across Australia and New Zealand. The role is a permanent, full-time position based at our Brookvale office on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

You will create original cataloguing and upgrade records, applying MARC21, RDA, DDC, and LCSH while working collaboratively within a team. A valid visa with full-time working rights in Australia is mandatory.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of regular cataloguing experience in public, academic, or school libraries.
• Motivated, driven, and goal-focused.
• Energetic and positive with a can-do attitude.

The role involves delivering high-quality bibliographic records for public, academic, and school libraries throughout Australia and New Zealand.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Brookvale office on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

The role involves:

• Creating original cataloguing and undertaking high-level bibliographic record upgrades for titles using the JB cataloguing systems.
• Applying working knowledge of MARC21, RDA, DDC, and Library of Congress Subject Headings.
• Working collaboratively within a team environment.

About You

You will be:

• Motivated, driven, and goal-focused.
• Energetic and positive, with a can-do attitude.
• Experienced, with 5+ years of regular cataloguing experience in a public, academic, or school library environment.

What We Offer

• Salary and benefits commensurate with experience will be offered to the successful applicant.
• Monday to Friday, with flexible start and finish times between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.
• A permanent, full-time position based at our Brookvale office.
