Job summary

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is seeking a Physiotherapist Level 3 for a temporary full-time role at Prince of Wales Hospital. You will provide high-quality physiotherapy within Palliative Care, aligning with NSW Health policies and SESLHD standards.

Where you'll be working

Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.

What You'll Be Doing

Plan, coordinate, and implement in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within Palliative Care in order to provide high quality physiotherapy to patients of Prince of Wales Hospital, consistent with NSW Health and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.

Selection Criteria
  • Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Extensive post graduate clinical experience in Palliative Care Physiotherapy
  • Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
  • Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence, with the capacity to provide clinical supervision to other staff.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
  • Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
  • Current Drivers licence valid in NSW, for provision of community based physiotherapy services as required.
