Job summary

Aurecon Australasia Pty Ltd is seeking a Legal Counsel to join the Legal & Governance team on a fixed-term 12-month assignment in Melbourne. You’ll advise on project engagements, review contracts, manage risk and governance, and train staff across the business.

The role requires strong drafting and negotiation skills, the ability to simplify complex issues for diverse stakeholders, and a pragmatic, commercial approach. This is a collaborative role in a major infrastructure environment.

Qualifications

• PQE: 6–9 years in private practice and/or in-house environments.
• Experience with consultancy services, advisory work and infrastructure engagements.
• Strong drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, matrix organisation.

Responsibilities

• Advise on project engagements including contract review and dispute management.
• Provide legal, risk and governance guidance to the business and senior leadership.
• Collaborate with client project teams and internal stakeholders across functions.
• Deliver training on legal and governance matters to Aurecon employees.
