Job summary

Konnecting Group in Brisbane is seeking a legally qualified Counsel to join its in-house team, advising on commercial contracts across engineering, mining, environmental and infrastructure projects. You will draft, review and negotiate agreements, manage commercial risk and support governance and dispute resolution with senior stakeholders across Australia and internationally.

The role combines tendering advice, contract template development and training for project managers, with hybrid working

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with LLB/JD or equivalent and Australian admission.
• ~5 years post-admission experience.
• Experience in commercial contracts, construction or infrastructure matters.
• Strong contract drafting, review and negotiation skills.
• Ability to provide pragmatic legal advice across complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate construction, engineering, consultancy and subcontractor agreements.
• Provide commercial legal advice throughout tendering, negotiation and delivery of projects.
• Advise internal stakeholders on contractual obligations, risk and dispute avoidance.
• Manage contractual claims and disputes with insurers and external advisers.
• Develop and maintain contract templates and governance procedures.
• Support business units across mining, environmental, infrastructure, power and transportation.
• Collaborate with senior management to mitigate risks and align with corporate policies.
• Provide training and guidance to project managers and teams.
• Collaborate with international colleagues on cross-border matters.
