Job summary

FutureYou is seeking a Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel in Sydney to support major infrastructure projects across transport, renewables and resources. You will provide strategic commercial and legal guidance, review and draft contracts, and develop precedent suites of commercial agreements for the infrastructure market.

You will work under the Legal Director, manage multiple deadlines, and bring a pro‑active, commercial approach to a team handling high-profile international projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years PQE in private practice or in-house.
• Experience advising on complex transactions with project delivery exposure.
• Strong understanding of construction law and contracts.
• Experience with commercial policies and identifying key risks within contracts.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Pro‑active and commercial approach to projects and workloads.

Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel

Our client a leading commercial business operating across the Infrastructure, energy, resources, transport, defence and building and construction sectors is seeking a legal counsel to join its growing legal team.

Reporting to the Legal Director, this role will involve:

• Providing strategic commercial and legal advice on major infrastructure projects across a number of sectors including transport,renewables and resources
• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts
• Drafting precedent suites of commercial agreements relevant to the infrastructure market
• Providing advice on contractual dispute resolution procedures

Key Requirements:

• Ideally a minimum of 5 years PQE gained either from a renowned private practice or In-house organisation
• Experience in advising on complex transactions, with exposure to project delivery issues
• In-depth understanding of construction law and contracts
• Experience with commercial policies and identifying key risks within contracts
• Proven ability to manage competing deadlines
• A pro‑active and commercial approach to projects and work loads.

The role has great mentoring with the opportunity for continued growth. It will be working across some of Australia’s most significant projects and dealing with International clients.
