Job summary

Montgomery Advisory, an ASX-listed firm, seeks a project lawyer to lead delivery of a billion-dollar infrastructure project based in Sydney. You will protect and maximize the company's commercial interests across all stages of the project, working closely with the General Counsel.

You will review and negotiate contracts, advise on project delivery, support claims and risk management, and deliver training to the project team.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of post-admission experience in construction law.
• Hard-working, thorough lawyer with attention to detail.

Background Join an ASX listed company on the rise. You will be lead lawyer to deliver a billion dollar infrastructure project, based in Sydney.

The legal team plays a critical role in supporting the company’s diverse projects by delivering expert legal advice and commercial insights. You will work closely with, and have the support of the General Counsel.

The Role

As the projectlawyer, the successful candidate will be responsible for protecting and maximising the company's commercial interests across all stages of the project. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing practical legal advice on project delivery matters
• Reviewing and negotiating a broad range of project related contracts
• Supporting project teams on claim management, disputes and commercial risk management
• Delivering legal training, coaching, and team induction sessions to the project team.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a hard-working, thorough lawyer with between 7-10 years of post-admission experience in construction law. In addition, you will also have:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
• The ability to simplify complex legal issues and communicate clearly to diverse stakeholders
• Proven ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
• Strong problem-solving capabilities
