Job summary

NAB seeks an experienced Legal Counsel to join the Markets Legal team in Melbourne, Australia. The role delivers legal advice on financial markets matters and regulatory issues, supporting NAB Group to navigate complex transactions and governance.

You will engage across the NAB Markets business and craft precise, practical guidance tailored to customers and risk management. With 3–4+ years post-qualification experience and an Australian practising certificate, you will draft client documents,

• 3-4 years+ post admission experience in private, public and/or in-house practice.
• Current Australian Practising Certificate.
• Experience advising a global financial markets business with a regulatory focus.
• Strong drafting skills with attention to detail.

We are looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:

• 3-4 years+ post admission experience in private, public and/or in-house legal practice and a current Australian Practising Certificate.
• Experience in a role providing legal advice to a global financial markets business with a strong regulatory focus is highly desirable.
• Strong drafting skills including exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to deliver, clear, pragmatic advice which balances risk and customer and business outcomes.
• To be self-motivated, collaborative, and the ability juggle competing demands in a very busy and energised environment.
