Job summary

NAB Markets Legal is seeking a capable Legal Counsel to provide expert advice on financial markets matters and to negotiate and draft client documentation. The role focuses on balancing risk with customer outcomes while building strong relationships across NAB Markets.

You will work in a fast-paced environment requiring collaboration, robust drafting, and strategic thinking to support NAB’s customers and regulatory obligations.

Each day, you'll go above and beyond to:

• Provide subject matter expertise and legal advice on a range of financial markets transactional and regulatory matters.
• Negotiate and draft client transaction documentation.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with the NAB Markets business.
• Contribute to the positive team culture of the Markets Legal team.

We are looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You'll need:

• 3-4 years+ post admission experience in private, public and/or in-house legal practice and a current Australian Practising Certificate.
• Experience in a role providing legal advice to a global financial markets business with a strong regulatory focus is highly desirable.
• Strong drafting skills including exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to deliver, clear, pragmatic advice which balances risk and customer and business outcomes.
• To be self-motivated, collaborative, and the ability juggle competing demands in a very busy and energised environment.
