Job summary

The Lakes College is seeking a permanent part-time LIFT Mentor Teacher for the Senior Secondary space, commencing January 2027. You will work with students, families and staff to maximise achievement, wellbeing and pathway outcomes.

Applicants should demonstrate inclusive practices, targeted interventions, senior assessment support and ability to coordinate strategies to help students achieve QCE or QCIA and transition beyond school.

Job description

This will be permanent part time (0.5 FTE) role commencing in January 2027.

As a LIFT (Learning Intervention for Transformation) Mentor Teacher within the Senior Secondary space, you will work collaboratively with students, families and staff to maximise student achievement, wellbeing, and successful pathway outcomes.

Candidates will be experienced providing inclusive practices, targeted learning interventions, senior assessment support, reasonable adjustments and the coordination of strategies that enable students to successfully attain their Queensland Certificate of Education or Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement and transition confidently beyond school.

Candidates must address as part of their application the following selection criteria;

• Knowledge of students and inclusive practice. Demonstrated experience in inclusive education, NCCD processes, learning plans, case management and interpretation of specialist reports.
• Curriculum, pathways and effective teaching. Understanding of AARA and QCIA processes, with the capacity to implement appropriate adjustments and personalised pathways that support equitable access and successful senior outcomes.
• Assessment, data and evidence-informed practice. Ability to work with staff to analyse student data, identify learning needs and implement targeted interventions, including collaboration with relevant specialist staff.
• Supportive and safe learning environments. Demonstrated understanding of adolescent mental health for senior students and the ability to identify concerns, enact appropriate support/referral pathways, and work collaboratively with families, College Counsellors and external agencies.
• Professional learning and engagement. Highly developed communication and collaboration skills, a commitment to evidence-informed professional growth, and alignment with the Christian ethos, values and child safeguarding commitments of the College.
