Job summary

The NSW Department of Education is seeking School Learning Support Officers to help students with diverse learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments under teacher supervision.

You will support student welfare, health and wellbeing activities, and may provide targeted assistance in streams such as pre-school, vision & hearing support, or bilingual programs, depending on school needs. Two full-time positions are available.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check clearance.
• Mandatory Department training with willingness to undertake first aid.
• Medication administration training will be provided based on student needs.
• Health support training provided based on student needs.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Awareness of the needs of students with emotional, physical or intellectual disabilities.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students with identified diverse learning needs under teacher supervision.
• Contribute to student welfare, health and wellbeing activities.
• Provide specialized support in streams such as pre-school, vision, hearing, or bilingual programs as required.
