Job summary

The NSW Department of Education is seeking a School Learning Support Officer to assist students with diverse learning needs in classrooms and other learning settings under teacher supervision, contributing to educational outcomes and student wellbeing.

You will support welfare, health and wellbeing activities, and may work in streams such as preschool, vision, hearing, and bilingual programs, with mandatory checks and training as required.

Qualifications

• Hold ACECQA approved Certificate III in Children's Services or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
• Working with Children Check Clearance
• Completion of mandatory Department of Education training and willingness to undertake first aid training
• Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs
• Health support training to be provided based on student needs
• Commitment to child safe practices and compliance with NSW policies and regulations

Responsibilities

• Support students with identified diverse learning needs under the direction of a teacher.
• Assist with student welfare, health and wellbeing activities as required.
• Provide targeted support in streams/settings such as preschool, vision support, hearing support, and bilingual programs.
