Job summary

St Aloysius College, North Melbourne, is seeking applications from dedicated, compassionate candidates for the Learning Support Officer role to join our Learning Diversity team in 2027.

The role supports students with diverse learning needs in the classroom, assisting with literacy, numeracy, organisation and social-emotional development, reporting to the Learning Diversity Leader. Applicants should have experience in a secondary education setting and strong collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs in a classroom.
• Strong communication and collaboration with staff, students and parents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding of child safety and appropriate behaviours with students.
• A current Working with Children Check and Police Check or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class and out-of-class support to students with additional learning needs.
• Assist in developing and delivering Individual Learning Plans.
• Support the College's processes related to student data and NCCD where appropriate.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment in collaboration with teachers.
• Work with students, parents, teachers and external professionals as needed.
