Job summary

The NSW Department of Education is seeking a School Learning Support Officer to assist students with diverse learning needs, including disability, in classrooms and learning environments under teacher direction. The role supports student welfare, health and wellbeing activities and may work across streams such as pre-school, vision/hearing support, and bilingual settings.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check clearance is required.
• Completion of mandatory Department of Education training and willingness to undertake first aid training.
• Administration of medications training will be provided based on student needs.
• Health support training will be provided based on student needs.

Responsibilities

• Support students with diverse learning needs, including disability, in classrooms and other settings under a teacher’s supervision.
• Provide welfare, health and wellbeing activities as required.
• Assist across streams/settings such as pre-school, vision support, hearing support, and bilingual programs.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and external providers to support student learning and wellbeing.
