Job summary

St Johns College, Dubbo, is seeking a caring Learning Support Officer to assist students with learning needs in a co-educational setting for Years 7–12. The role supports teachers and staff, enabling inclusive participation and independence in classroom activities.

The successful candidate will implement individualized learning strategies, support data collection for NCCD compliance, and help plan Personal Learning Plans. NSW WWC check required. On-site role with school-term year-round pay.

Qualifications

• Hold or are working towards Certificate III in School Based Education Support OR a NESA recognised Teaching degree
• Valid NSW Working with Children Check
• Demonstrated ability to deliver effective learning outcomes
• Experience working with children with a range of needs
• Positive attitude and collaborative nature
• Experience in both Primary and secondary schools

Responsibilities

• Providing in-class support for teachers and their students with learning needs
• Supporting and supervising students with additional learning needs in and out of the classroom
• Facilitating the remedial reading program (MacqLit)
• Assisting with data collection and maintenance for legislative compliance (NCCD)
• Administrative tasks in support of NCCD and disability provisions
• Input into the planning and implementation of Personal Learning Plans
• Collaborating with classroom teachers to ensure inclusion of all students
• Applying behaviour management strategies to maintain a supportive learning environment
