Job summary

St Margaret Mary's Primary School in Melbourne is seeking applications for full-time Learning Support Officers to commence in 2026 on a fixed-term basis for the 2027 school year. LSOs support students with additional needs under teacher direction, assist in small groups, record progress, and help with resources, excursions, and inclusive classroom activities.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Education Support or equivalent (advantage).
• Experience supporting learning in the classroom is beneficial.
• Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required.

Responsibilities

• Work with students who have disabilities or challenges.
• Assist individually or in small groups guided by teachers.
• Contribute to planning and delivery of learning activities under teacher direction.
• Monitor and record student progress and communicate with staff.
• Provide basic care and supervision during class, breaks, excursions, camps.
• Participate in team meetings and parent support group meetings as directed.
• Assist with collection, preparation and distribution of teaching resources and clerical tasks.
• Demonstrate initiative and ability to work in a team or independently.
• Promote a child-safe environment in Catholic Education.
