Job summary

Greensborough College in Melbourne's northern suburbs is seeking a Learning Specialist Range 3 to lead advanced classroom practice and school-wide improvement in curriculum, assessment and reporting. The role focuses on modelling high-quality teaching, mentoring teachers, and leading professional learning across the school to lift student achievement, engagement and wellbeing.

You'll work within the Teaching Service, collaborate with the leadership team, and use data to inform teaching decisions

Qualifications

• SC1: Demonstrated expert knowledge of the curriculum and ability to model exemplary teaching including literacy and numeracy.
• SC2: Expertise in high-impact teaching strategies and using data to evaluate impact.
• SC3: Ability to monitor and assess student learning and give feedback to students and parents.
• SC4: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with staff, parents and community.
• SC5: Ability to model professional learning and reflect on practice.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice.
• Model classroom practice via lessons and feedback.
• Work with leadership to define highly effective teacher practice.
• Lead school-wide improvement strategies related to curriculum.
• Develop processes for observation, feedback and peer collaboration.
• Provide evidence-based feedback to staff to inform development.
• Support student data use to inform teaching approaches.
• Mentor and/or coach teachers and supervise student teachers.
• Promote professional learning structures and PLCs.
• Engage in reflective practice to improve teaching.
