Job summary

Torquay College in Victoria seeks Learning Specialists to advance teaching and learning. You will spend most time in classrooms delivering high-quality practice, demonstrate lessons, observe colleagues, and support teachers through coaching and professional learning.

You will lead curriculum improvement, use student data to inform practice, and help build school-wide professional learning communities while modelling reflective practice.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to model high-quality teaching practice.
• Capable of using data to inform teaching and communicate progress to families.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and collaboration skills with students, staff and the community.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high-level teaching and learning practices.
• Model classroom practice including demonstration lessons.
• Collaborate with leadership to define effective teacher practices.
• Lead and model whole-school improvement strategies in curriculum delivery.
• Provide professional learning through observation, feedback and peer collaboration.
• Mentor and coach teachers and supervise student teachers.
• Model use of student data to inform teaching approaches.
• Develop school-wide professional learning structures and PLCs.
