Job summary

Randwick City Council is seeking a Casual Learn to Swim Instructor to deliver professional learn to swim programs across the centre. You will provide outstanding customer service, maintain program standards, and support students from Learn to Swim through advanced levels.

The successful applicant will hold AUSTSWIM/Swim Australia qualifications and CPR, have experience teaching swimming, be available mornings, evenings, and weekends, and hold a NSW Working with Children Check.

Qualifications

• AUSTSWIM or equivalent qualification (Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety).
• CPR HLTAID009 certification required.
• Experience delivering learn to swim tuition.
• Available mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and show initiative.
• Must have NSW Working with Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional learn to swim programs for all swimmers enrolled in the program.
• Provide quality customer service and a friendly, positive experience for students.

Salary: $34.31 per hour plus 25% casual loading + 12% superannuation

It's a great time to join the Des Renford Leisure Centre as we look to expand our services and operations to the community. We recruit casual Learn to Swim Instructors periodically throughout the year.

Purpose

As a Casual Learn to Swim Instructor, you will provide professional learn to swim programs for all swimmers enrolled in the Program, including Learn to Swim, Intensive Holiday Programs, and School Groups. You will provide quality customer service by delivering superior learn to swim tuition, displaying a thorough knowledge of the program levels and criteria while providing a friendly and positive experience for students.

The Successful Applicant Will Require

• AUSTSWIM, Swim Australia or relevant Australian Qualifications: Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety
• CPR – (HLTAID009)
• Experience in providing learn to swim tuition
• Available morning, evenings and weekends
• Demonstrated ability and successful experience in working as part of a team
• Good interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to provide outstanding customer service
• Ability to work under limited supervision and to demonstrate initiative when required
• Working knowledge of WHS practicesA NSW Working with Children Clearance, as per the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012, obtained via the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
