Job summary

Fetch Recruitment is seeking an experienced excavator operator with supervisory skills to join our civil team in Melbourne. You will operate 5T–35T machines on major projects, read drawings accurately, supervise subcontractors, and assist with formwork, drainage, and concrete pours.

The role requires 5+ years’ excavator experience and 2+ years in supervision, with tickets (RII) and GPS knowledge as a bonus. Overtime and long‑term opportunities are available on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience operating excavators on civil or infrastructure projects.
• 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• RII excavator tickets and other relevant tickets (e.g. Roller, front end loader, backhoe).
• GPS experience is a bonus (Topcon & Trimble).

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators (5T–35T) across civil works, including pile drilling.
• Read and interpret construction drawings confidently.
• Supervise subcontractors and coordinate site works when required.
• Help with formwork, concrete pours, and drainage work as needed.
• Carry out daily machine maintenance and inspections.
• Keep site documentation up to date (SWMS, ITPs, Toolbox talks, inductions).
• Maintain safe work practices and support a positive team environment.
