Job summary

HEH Civil Pty in South East Queensland is seeking a hands-on Site Supervisor to translate daily plans into safe, productive on-site work. You will coordinate crews, subcontractors, plant and materials across road, drainage, earthworks and concrete projects with the Site Supervisor and Project Manager.

This permanent, full-time role offers a clear path to Site Supervision, support for further qualifications, and a roster that generally runs Monday to Friday with occasional away-from-home

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading civil crews on road, drainage, earthworks or concrete projects.
• Strong hands-on construction knowledge; ability to make practical on-site decisions.
• Read plans, read levels and explain construction requirements clearly.
• White Card and current Queensland driver licence.
• Flexibility to work Monday to Friday across South East Queensland and away from home on a 10 days on, 4 days off roster.

Job description

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a hands-on leader who knows civil construction and can turn the day’s plan into safe, productive work on site. Working closely with the Site Supervisor and Project Manager, you will coordinate crews, subcontractors, plant, materials and daily activities, keep works moving to program and step up when the Supervisor is off site. This is a site-based role, with locations varying by project. South East Queensland projects generally operate Monday to Friday. When working away from home, you can expect to work a maximum of 10 days on, 4 days off roster, with night works when required.

Key duties

• Plan and allocate daily work with the Site Supervisor, including labour, subcontractors, plant, materials and deliveries
• Lead from the front across road construction, drainage, earthworks and concrete activities
• Keep works progressing to program and communicate delays, site constraints and resource needs early
• Read and communicate plans, levels, grades, specifications and construction requirements
• Monitor productivity, workmanship and site progress and address issues before they affect delivery
• Run pre-starts, toolbox talks and daily site checks and support Safe Work Method Statement compliance
• Coach less experienced team members and set clear expectations for safety, quality and conduct
• Complete site diaries, timesheets, permits and quality records accurately and on time

What you need

• Proven experience leading civil crews on road, drainage, earthworks or concrete projects
• Strong hands-on construction knowledge and the judgement to make practical decisions on site
• Confidence coordinating people, subcontractors, plant and daily work fronts
• The ability to read plans, check levels and explain construction requirements clearly
• A positive attitude, reliability and direct, respectful communication
• A strong focus on safety, productivity and completing work properly the first time
• Flexibility to work Monday to Friday across South East Queensland and, when required, work away from home on 10 days on, 4 days off roster
• White Card and current Queensland driver licence
• Certificate III in Civil Construction, Transport and Main Roads experience, Traffic Control, Traffic Management Implementation or First Aid tickets will be highly regarded
