Job summary

HEH Civil is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead site-based civil projects across Queensland. You will work with the construction delivery team and engineering support to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the required standards.

You will oversee planning, procurement, resourcing, and contract administration, while mentoring Project Engineers and Site Engineers and coordinating with subcontractors and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years’ experience working on civil construction projects in Australia at a Project Manager level.
• A degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience delivering water infrastructure and Transport and Main Roads projects.
• Current Transport and Main Roads personnel schedule approval.
• Track record for delivering projects with responsible commercial outcomes.
• Strong contract administration, programming and cost control capabilities.
• Experience mentoring Project Engineers and Site Engineers.
• Strong client and stakeholder management skills.
• Safety, quality, risk and problem-solving mindset.
• Field or plant operation experience is highly regarded.

About the role

At HEH Civil, our Project Managers are responsible for everything on their jobs. This is a site-based, boots-on-the-ground role, working alongside the construction delivery team with the support of your engineering team. You will have access to senior leaders when you need it, but you will be accountable for the overall project outcome.

• Deliver Transport and Main Roads projects in line with contract, personnel schedule and reporting requirements

About you

You will be an established civil construction Project Manager who is comfortable taking responsibility, making decisions and developing the engineers around you.

• At least 10 years’ experience working on civil construction projects in Australia at a Project Manager level
• A degree in Civil Engineering
• Proven experience delivering water infrastructure and Transport and Main Roads projects, with airport or other major civil infrastructure experience highly regarded
• Current Transport and Main Roads personnel schedule approval
• A track record of taking full responsibility for project delivery and commercial outcomes
• Strong contract administration, programming and cost control capabilityExperience managing progress claims, variations, subcontractors and suppliers
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing Project Engineers and Site Engineers
• Strong client and stakeholder management skills
• A practical approach to safety, quality, risk and problem-solving
• Field or plant operation experience will be highly regarded

Relocation

We are ideally looking for an experienced Project Manager who is willing to relocate to Cairns for the long term.

This is a permanent, full-time, site-based role in Cairns, with travel between project sites as required. Regional work may involve overnight stays depending on the project.
