Job summary

Trafflec in Rockhampton is seeking an experienced Civil Leading Hand to join our growing team. This hands-on leadership role focuses on leading crews on site, maintaining high safety standards, and delivering quality civil works on time.

You will work closely with Supervisors and Project Managers to coordinate daily site activities, read plans, liaise with subcontractors, and uphold WHS, environment, and quality requirements across local projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Leading Hand or Senior Civil Operator.
• Strong background in civil construction, including roads and services.
• Experience leading crews and coordinating on-site activities.
• Clear communication on site with Supervisors and Subcontractors.
• Solid understanding of WHS requirements and safety practices.
• Relevant tickets such as plant, roller, excavator or skid steer are valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a small civil and electrical crew on site.
• Coordinate daily tasks and allocate labour and plant.
• Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and work instructions.
• Liaise with supervisors, subcontractors, and traffic crews.
• Maintain site records including pre starts, SWMS, and daily reports.
• Promote a positive safety culture and high standard of workmanship.

Trafflec is seeking an experienced Civil Leading Hand to join our growing team based at Rockhampton. This is a hands on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys leading crews on site, maintaining high safety standards, and delivering quality civil works on time.

About the Role

As a Civil Leading Hand, you will work closely with Supervisors and Project Managers to coordinate daily site activities. You will lead by example, ensure works are completed safely and efficiently, and support the delivery of traffic, civil, and infrastructure projects across the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

• Lead and supervise a small civil and electrical crew on site

About You

• Previous leading hand experience in electrical pit and pipe installation is highly regarded.
• Ability to lead crews and communicate clearly on site
• Strong safety focus and understanding of WHS requirements
• Relevant tickets such as plant, roller, excavator, or skid steer highly regarded
