Job summary

St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne is seeking a Leadership, Learning & Development Coordinator to strengthen leadership capability and drive professional growth across the organisation. You will design, coordinate and deliver learning initiatives that enhance staff capability and workplace performance.

Qualifications

• tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Health Sciences, Education or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent.
• Experience facilitating learning and development initiatives with confident presentation and facilitation skills.
• Experience designing, developing and delivering leadership programs, ideally in healthcare.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Collaborative approach to influence and build a positive learning culture aligned to organisational objectives.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and evaluating learning initiatives.
• Experience coaching and supporting individuals to build capability and achieve goals.
• Strong IT skills including database management.
• Experience in instructional design would be an advantage.

About the Role

Are you passionate about developing people, building leadership capability and creating learning experiences that make a difference?

As the Leadership, Learning & Development Coordinator, you will play a key role in strengthening leadership capability and supporting professional growth across St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM).

Working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation, you will design, coordinate, deliver and continuously improve learning and development initiatives that enhance employee capability, support workplace performance and foster a culture of continuous learning.

With a particular focus on leadership development, you will help shape and deliver programs aligned with organisational strategic priorities, equipping our people with the skills and confidence to lead effectively in a dynamic healthcare environment.

You will also coordinate the program of work for the SVHM Workplace Trainer/Career Advisor, contributing to broader workforce learning and development initiatives.

Classifications for this position ranges between HS5 - HS33 ($100,433.32 - $111,029.88 per annum, pro rata).

Your Contribution

You will bring a blend of learning and development expertise, facilitation skills and strong relationship‑building capabilities to help deliver impactful outcomes across the organisation.

You will ideally demonstrate:

• Relevant qualifications – A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Health Sciences, Education or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, together with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent.
• Learning and development expertise – Demonstrated experience facilitating learning and development initiatives, supported by confident presentation and facilitation skills.
• Leadership development experience – Experience designing, developing and delivering leadership programs, ideally within a healthcare environment.
• Stakeholder engagement – Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• A collaborative approach – The ability to influence, support and engage others in building a positive learning culture and achieving organisational objectives.
• Continuous improvement – Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and a commitment to evaluating and enhancing learning initiatives.
• Coaching and development – Experience coaching and supporting individuals to build capability and achieve their goals.
• Digital capability – Strong IT skills, including experience with database management.
• Instructional design – Experience in instructional design would be an advantage.

Our team operates across several sites, including Fitzroy, St George’s Hospital and Berrengarra in Kew, St Vincent’s on the Park in East Melbourne, Caritas Christi Hospice in Kew, and Port Phillip Prison.

The position will be primarily based at our Fitzroy campus, with travel to other sites, including St George’s Hospital and Berrengarra in Kew, as required.
