Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to own on-site delivery of water and wastewater projects. You will lead crews, coordinate subcontractors, plant and materials while proactively addressing issues to keep works on track.

You’ll work with senior site and project engineers, applying your practical judgment to ensure safe, quality outcomes and timely completion. This role emphasizes ownership and hands-on leadership on live sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience within water and wastewater industry.
• Strong construction experience with a track record of setting up and delivering works.
• Confidence managing subcontractors and site-based crews.
• Experience with construction programming, design reviews and resolving site issues.
• Sound understanding of safety, environmental and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day construction activities across water and wastewater projects.
• Coordinate crews, subcontractors, plant, equipment and materials.
• Plan upcoming works and ensure sites are set up to succeed.
• Keep construction moving against programme without compromising safety or quality.
• Review designs, spot potential issues and work with project team to find practical solutions.
• Manage subcontractor performance and expectations onsite.
• Stay across site risks, environmental requirements and quality controls.
• Set the tone onsite by leading safely, communicating clearly and backing your crews.
