Job summary

Anglo American Australia is seeking an Environmental Superintendent for Moranbah North Mine, based in Moranbah. You will lead a team of environmental professionals to ensure timely delivery of the Annual Environmental Plan and compliance with environmental permits and legislation.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will develop environmental programs, oversee budgets, and drive EMS initiatives while collaborating with regulators and stakeholders in a large underground mining

Qualifications

• Senior Environmental experience within the Resources or Mining sectors (preferably Coal).
• Tertiary qualification in an Environmental discipline.
• Strong knowledge of State and Federal environmental legislation.
• Demonstrated leadership in the Environmental field with knowledge of EMS ISO 14001.

Responsibilities

• Lead innovation, development and support of site environmental programs.
• Develop the site’s Annual Environmental Plan in line with the Sustainable Mine Plan.
• Set yearly objectives/targets to meet EA and EPBC compliance.
• Coordinate and manage all environmental and cultural heritage matters.
• Lead and mentor a team of environmental professionals.
• Manage stakeholder engagement, lead initiatives and environmental awareness campaigns.
• Ensure compliance with environmental licenses and statutory requirements.
• Contribute to development of the Environmental Management System.
• Assist with environmental budget preparation and management.
• Lead environmental incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain collaborative relationship with DETSI.
