Job summary

The role focuses on elevating teaching quality, literacy and numeracy outcomes, data-driven improvement and strategic leadership.

Qualifications

• SC1: Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to lead priorities including literacy/numeracy.
• SC2: Ability to plan and implement high impact teaching strategies and evaluate learning impact.
• SC3: Ability to monitor and assess student learning and use data to drive improvement and feedback.
• SC4: Strong interpersonal/leadership skills to engage students, staff, parents and community.
• SC5: Model and promote Department values and lead whole-school professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead whole-school improvement initiatives aligned to the strategic plan and priorities.
• Drive curriculum planning and delivery improvement strategies.
• Coordinate professional development and development plans for staff.
• Oversee staff performance reviews and development.
• Teach demonstration lessons as part of capacity building.
• Develop and implement assessment and reporting policies.
• Oversee student welfare, discipline policies and school operations.
• Lead curriculum development in major learning areas and cross-area involvement.
• Manage general discipline matters beyond classroom teaching.
• Contribute to overall school leadership and governance.
• Contribute to school council proposals.
• Develop and manage the school code of conduct.
