Job summary

EPEC Group is seeking a Principal Primary Design Engineer to lead a design team delivering FEED and procurement‑level services for substations and HV projects in Australia. You will drive technical development, set standards, and ensure compliant designs from concept to procurement‑ready documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or eligible for membership.
• 10+ years of experience in primary design for substations or similar.
• Strong knowledge of substation primary design and related standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and drawing/documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver FEED and procurement‑level primary designs for a diverse client base.
• Develop detailed primary designs, single line diagrams, layout drawings and equipment specifications to procurement‑ready standard.
• Oversee FEED studies, concept and preliminary designs and technical specifications for tender and construction.
• Build, mentor and scale a high‑performing design team to meet growing client demand.
