Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate/Principal Electrical Engineer for EHV substations in Australia. The role focuses on leading the design and delivery of 330kV–500kV substations within a growing Power & Energy team.

Ideal candidates bring extensive HV/EHV experience, a strong mentorship mindset, and a track record of delivering complex transmission projects. Hybrid work options and career progression are available.

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in Electrical, Power Systems, or equivalent Engineering discipline.
• Significant HV/EHV substation design experience.
• Proven delivery of substation projects in the 330kV–500kV range.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineers across projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of EHV/HV substation primary design packages.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers across the business.
• Undertake and review power system studies and design calculations.
• Develop substation layouts, equipment specifications, and design documentation.
• Support project delivery teams through design reviews and construction phases.
• Engage with clients, utilities, contractors, and key project stakeholders.
• Contribute to proposals, technical excellence initiatives, and capability development.
