Job summary

Ausenco in Brisbane seeks a Lead Structural Engineer to join our team. You will lead and coordinate a project team delivering structural design deliverables for industrial and mining projects, maintaining revision control and client-facing communications.

You will bring 10+ years of experience, Charter Engineer accreditation, and strong knowledge of steel structures, concrete foundations, and engineering standards. Brownfield projects and mentoring capabilities are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of technical experience with an engineering consulting firm or large organisation.
• Accreditation as a Charter Engineer (or equivalent) or ability to obtain.
• Strong design experience in brownfield environments is highly desirable.
• Experience in client-facing project management roles, leading design teams to deliver outcomes.
• Experience designing steel structures and concrete foundations for industrial/mining projects.
• Knowledge of ISO, AS, ANSI, API design codes and related standards.
• Ability to mentor and support the development of structural engineers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure structural design deliverables meet standards, are checked and issued with revision control.
• Lead and coordinate project team activities to meet time and budget objectives.
• Generate and review technical documents and deliverables.
• Prepare specifications, design criteria, scope of work and material take-off lists.
• Prepare engineering proposals and monitor budgets, reporting discrepancies.
• Complete tasks with minimal supervision ensuring cost, quality and time objectives are met.
• Maintain active communication with Project/Engineering Managers and discuss technical activities, staffing, budgets and schedules.
• Contribute to development of the Structural Engineering Team and apply industry developments.
• Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternatives.
