The Railway Hotel Marian is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join our family-friendly country pub near Mackay. You will assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and lead the team in their absence, ensuring consistent quality across all dishes.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen leadership role with strong people management.
• Able to work a rotating 5-day roster including lunch and dinner shifts.
• Strong leadership, communication and staff development skills.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring food preparation, cooking and presentation is of a high standard at all times.
• Work independently and as part of a team to achieve a consistently excellent product.
• Menu development and planning.
• Demonstrate, implement, and maintain effective cost control strategies for both product and labour.
• Develop and maintain appropriate relationships with relevant regulatory authorities.
• Ensure HACCP, OHS compliance, and maintain correct food safety procedures.
