Job summary

Wests Group Macarthur is a leading hospitality group in Sydney’s South-West, operating multiple venues with a strong connection to the local community and a pipeline of development projects.

We are seeking a passionate Sous Chef to lead our kitchen team, shape menus, mentor chefs, and deliver outstanding dining experiences across our venues. You’ll drive quality, lead from the front, and collaborate with front-of-house and events teams to maintain the highest standards.

Qualifications

• Senior kitchen leadership and mentoring experience required.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage high-volume services.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, WHS and kitchen compliance.
• Excellent communication, organisation and time management.

Responsibilities

• Drive quality, consistency, and presentation across all services.
• Lead from the front during service and cooking high-quality dishes.
• Support kitchen leadership during Head Chef absences.
• Contribute to menu design, seasonal innovations and specials.
• Lead, coach and develop the kitchen team.
• Monitor food production to maintain exceptional standards.
• Manage stock, ordering, cost control and assist with stocktakes.
• Maintain highest standards of food safety, hygiene and compliance.
• Collaborate with front-of-house, functions and events teams.
