Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU is seeking an experienced Sous-Chef to join a well-established hospitality venue in New South Wales. This full-time role suits a passionate chef seeking career growth in a professional kitchen with a supportive team environment.

You will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver high-quality café and event dining while maintaining food quality, kitchen efficiency, and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Hospitality or higher qualification required.
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience as a chef in a commercial kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef with menu planning and development.
• Prepare and present high-quality meals in accordance with recipes and presentation standards.
• Support café operations and function catering services.
• Modify dishes to accommodate dietary requirements and customer preferences.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management.
• Minimise food waste through effective kitchen practices.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Follow HACCP principles and food safety procedures at all times.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
• Support efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods.
• Maintain consistency in food preparation and presentation.
• Contribute to a positive and professional team environment.
