Job summary

Sprout Artisan Bakery in Brisbane’s Albion production hub is seeking a full‑time Senior Sourdough Baker. You’ll manage daily bread production, balance speed with quality, and shape seasonal ideas into product lines. The role blends creative input with hands‑on production in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead by example, training junior staff, upholding WHS standards and contributing to bakery innovations while meeting deadlines and maintaining consistency across beloved loaves and pastries.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of baking experience, in a similar role or high-volume kitchen
• Hands-on sourdough experience required
• A baking qualification, trade certificate, or solid tenure in the industry
• Commitment to quality, consistency and ongoing learning
• Strong communication and team leadership abilities
• Safety and WHS awareness with hazard minimisation

Responsibilities

• Weigh, mix and shape doughs to our recipes and methods
• Hand-shape sourdough loaves, baguettes and rolls
• Operate convection and deck ovens
• Produce high volumes without compromising quality or presentation
• Monitor inventory, cleanliness and hygiene standards
• Coach and support junior teammates, stepping in as needed
