We are looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Baker to lead our team of 5-8 bakers in a busy wholesale bakery. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled baker with strong leadership abilities, extensive wholesale production experience, and a solid understanding of sourdough. You will play a key role in overseeing daily production, maintaining consistently high product quality, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the bakery.

Key responsibilities

Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of 5-8 bakers in daily wholesale production.

Oversee the production of a range of breads and baked goods, with a strong focus on sourdough.

Manage production schedules to meet wholesale orders, deadlines, and quality standards.

Ensure consistency in product quality, flavour, texture, and presentation.

Apply strong technical knowledge of sourdough fermentation, dough handling, shaping, and baking.

Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and workplace safety.

Train and support team members, sharing knowledge and developing baking skills.

Monitor ingredient usage, minimise waste, and maintain efficient production processes.

Work closely with management to improve workflow, productivity, and product quality.

About you

At least 5 years of professional baking experience, ideally in a wholesale or high-volume production bakery.

Strong knowledge and practical experience in sourdough baking.

Proven experience leading or supervising a team of bakers.

A thorough understanding of dough mixing, fermentation, shaping, proofing, and baking techniques.

The ability to organise production, manage time effectively, and meet tight deadlines.

A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for quality baking.

Excellent communication skills and a hands-on approach to leadership.

The ability to work independently while building a positive and productive team environment.

Daytime working hours: 6:00 am - 3:00 pm.
